This jacket is exactly what we think a winter jacket should be. We started with a list of things we didn't like about current jackets and worked hard to refine those aspects, and in the process, we made our best jacket ever.

The first problem to solve was related to humidity management. Even the best fabrics on the market guarantee a good level of breathability, but they cannot do anything against the sweat generated during high intensity workouts. So, we invented a two-layer construction that allows you to have protection from the wind and at the same time, with the outer layer open and the inner one closed, allows the airflow inside the jacket to evaporate moisture, avoiding it coming into direct contact with the skin. On a long climb, we will completely open the outer layer to allow moisture to escape, while when we begin the descent, we will close this layer, feeling completely dry inside. It works so well that sometimes it actually feels like magic. New for this year is a softer, warmer 3D insulation layer that ensures warmth, moisture management and fit.

Then, we focused on the openings: neck, hips and, most of all, the wrists. The neck is high and is shaped to move with you, both when you stand up on the pedals and when you get into an aerodynamic position transforming you into a January hero attacking his riding companions. For the waist, we created a layer with a silicone band that sits flat, completely keeping the wind out, without deforming or folding up. New for this year is a revolutionary double fabric at the wrist opening with an internal layer that slips under your glove and adheres to the wrist and an external one that sits over the glove to prevent rain from sliding off the outside of the glove. glove, penetrate inside along the arm.

Obviously, the latest generation jacket will look good even in the wet, so we used GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabric together with heat-taped seams in critical points such as the shoulder. The other seams are hidden from the direct flow of water and the water-repellent treatment is sufficient to prevent most moisture from penetrating. We call it “essentially waterproof,” using our subjective judgment to find a balance between water protection, breathability and comfort. This doesn't mean that no drops will ever penetrate, but we did long rides in the pouring rain and stayed totally dry.

All these features make it a favorite of Team Ineos runners and the most versatile jacket for high-quality performance during cold-weather training we've ever created.
