SPEEDGRIP COMPOUND technology

The new Cinturato Gravel tires feature a compound specially designed for gravel and cyclocross use: SpeedGRIP.
Developed starting from the formulation applied to the Scorpion MTB tires - the SmartGRIP - the new SpeedGRIP maintains the same polymer matrix, improving rolling efficiency.

High mileage and high-rolling tires are important factors in gravel riding, both in races, in bikepacking, and when riding on a mix of asphalt, gravel and rough terrain. For this reason, Pirelli technicians worked to refine the compound with the aim of limiting energy dissipation. The SpeedGRIP maintains the same tear resistance as its MTB counterpart, as well as its high chemical grip (known as wet grip), with a reduction in rolling resistance to a level very close to that of pure road racing tyres.

The mechanical strength of the SpeedGRIP compound reduces the possibility of any sharp object penetrating or cutting the tire, resulting in greater efficiency in protecting the high-strength fabric layers underneath.
The Cinturato Cross and Cinturato Gravel tires allow you to drive faster in corners and at higher average speeds on straights, with a lower puncture ratio than the typical configuration.
